60s Serendipity 3 Graphic Mickey Mouse & Pluto Denim Skirt

Incredible hand made vintage 1960s/70s Mickey Mouse and Pluto denim skirt by the world famous Serendipity 3 line out of New York City.

Of course everyone knows the iconic restaurant with their famous frozen peanut butter hot chocolate but what’s lesser known is that during the 1960s and 70s, the restaurant had its own boutique with hand made clothing by its owner Stephen Bruce and friends - even Andy Warhol got in on the action, creating a pretzel patterned dress for the shop. Many of these designs are now housed in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The skirt has started out as a pair Maverick jeans which were morphed into a skirt by cutting up the inseam and inserting a contrasting striped panel of denim. Huge Micky Mouse and Pluto appliqués wrap around the skirt. This adorable skirt is signed 'ETH,' a signature known to be used by Stephen Bruce himself.

Excellent, perfectly broken in vintage condition.
