Rare Midnight Blue Reidd & Fabrizio Broadtail Military Jacket

Lovely 1960s midnight blue genuine broadtail fur coat but the famed Reiss & Fabrizio. Reiss & Fabrizio were famed NYC furriers who did many fur pieces for both Hollywood and Broadway - including Bab's iconic Jaguar suit in 1964's Funny Girl.  Broadtail/Swakara is by far the most valuable fur of the sheep family - far more so than its cousins shearling and persian lamb cousins. Finding dyed broadtail like this is EXTREMELY rare! The colored, dyed versions are highly coveted - we have only ever seen a few up for grabs in the past 11 years. Dyed broadtail was also shown all over the F/W 2014/15 runways - it's a massive trend this year!

Featured here is an insanely awesome velvety soft midnight blue broadtail fur coat. Classic 1960s double-breasted construction with a definite military flare. Super fitted bodice with double-vented flared skirt, very skinny/fitted sleeves and besom pockets. Oversized gold military buttons top this beauty off! Truly beautiful midnight blue silk lining.

Excellent + vintage condition - obviously very well cared for and stored appropriately. The only condition issues to note is a tiny but of fur loss on the very edge of the inside hem, not at all visible from the outside and is very much standard wear on broadtail items. The short, delicate, silky fibers tend to shed when folded so tightly. Best fits sizes XS/S - possibly a petite medium. There is a bit of room to move the buttons over to fit a larger size.
