1960s Silk Chiffon Evening Gown in the manner of Helen Rose

Absolutely gorgeous 1960's purple and white silk chiffon gown in the manner of Helen Rose. Top quality and could easily be Helen's work but alas, like many of her costume pieces, there are no labels!

Like Ms Rose's work, the bodice of the dress features a plunging crossover neckline made of tightly gathered purple and ivory silk chiffon. The plunging back is trimmed with the loveliest braided chiffon which leads up into a halter strap, closing behind the neck. The massive full skirt is alternating layers of purple and ivory silk chiffon that glide as you move. We could easily see this on Debra Kerr in "An Affair to Remember" or on Grace Kelly in "High Society" !

Truly a delicious and rare piece of vintage. Excellent vintage condition. Freshly cleaned and ready to wear. We did find a 2mm hole in one of the white panels that is absolutely lost in the folds.
